Lead Poisoning in Port Pirie

Port Pirie, a small town located in South Australia is known as a world leading centre for lead and zinc processing as well as smelting.
New research has revealed the extent to which people, more specifically children are being affected.
Whilst, the effects of this contamination has long been known, Cynthia Isley is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Environmental Science at Macquarie University and she joins Breakfast’s Zoe and Tom to talk about new research into the effect of lead contamination in Port Pirie.
