Peter Cundall: The Krait and The Nautical Assoc of Australia
Posted on: Mon 18 Mar 2019
Peter Cundall is Secretary of The Nautical Association of Australia and chats today about the extensive research he’s done into wartime Japanese ships, and in particular the Japanese fishing vessel Krait that was taken over by the Allies at the outbreak of WW2, and used for rescue work and by Australia’s Z Special Unit for raids against Japanese shipping … a great piece of Australian wartime history!
We really must note that the first (successful) assault on Japanese shipping by the Krait in September 1943 was a Royal Australian Navy (RAN) operation. The second raid was a Z Special Force operation.
