New ABC Chair

The appointment of Ita Buttrose as chair of the national broadcaster comes after a tumultuous year which saw the sacking of managing director Michelle Guthrie and subsequent disputes with former chair Justin Milne. Denis Muller, Senior Research Fellow in the Centre for Advancing Journalism at the University of Melbourne, argues that the choice is a step in the right direction.
