Ngalla Maya helping First Nations people post-release
Posted on: Tue 29 Jan 2019
In Australia, 1 in 9 of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have been to prison.
In Western Australia, this figure is even higher – 1 in 6 First Nations people have been incarcerated.
Mervyn Eades is the CEO of not-for-profit organisation Ngalla Maya, which works to help First Nations people gain meaningful employment post-release and live fulfilling lives.
He has a very personal reason for starting up the organisation; he speaks to Small Change‘s Lisa Burns about the life-changing work of his organisation and his hopes for its services to be applied nationally.
