First proton therapy centre in the Southern Hemisphere

Proton therapy is a precise radiation method that targets cancerous tumours without damaging healthy tissues.
The Government has approved the construction of the Australian Bragg Centre for Proton Therapy and Research, which will be the first proton therapy unit in the Southern Hemisphere.
Dr Hannah Brown, Head of Communications of the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute, joins Zoe Kounadis and Tom Mann to speak about the many benefits the Centre will bring for cancer patients and researchers.
