Great news from APY Art Centre Collective!

Posted on: Fri 7 Dec 2018

In this week’s program we are very pleased to be hearing from an artist who is also one of the Directors of the APY Art Centre Collective – Nyunmiti Burton.

We hear from Nyunmiti about how the Art Centre Collective was set up and how being part of the Collective has supported her and other Anangu artists and brought Anangu artwork to the broader public.

We also find out about the Art Centre Collective’s involvement in supporting community-based dialysis on the APY Lands and the artwork that contributed to fundraising for dialysis services and to the South Australia renal dialysis truck.

Towards the end of the program, we chat with Skye O’Meara who ran the Tjala Arts Centre in Amata for more than eight years and who is now the APY Art Centre Collective’s Manager.

We’d like to thank our friends at the APY Art Centre Collective for helping with the interpreting and organising for the interview.

This program was made possible with support from the Community Broadcasting Foundation. Find out more at cbf.org.au
