In 1618, Sir Walter Raleigh was beheaded for crimes of conspiracy to kill King James 1, 15 years earlier.

In 1945, the first ballpoint pens to be made commercially went on sale at Gimbels Department Store in New York at the price of $12.50 each.

In 1957, Bobby Helms recorded ‘Jingle Bell Rock’. The song was written and composed by Joseph Carleton Beal and James Ross Boothe.
