Local councils call on others to back Newstart raise

An action has been held outside the Local Government Association of SA office, calling on local governments to add their voices to the national campaign to raise Newstart and related payments.
So far 13 councils from across South Australia have pledged their support for an increase.
The action was lead by and featured voices from Anti-Poverty Network SA, as well as SACOSS and current council representatives and candidates in the upcoming council elections.
