Today in 1960 the United States placed its second trade embargo on Cuba because of its opposition to the revolutionary government of Fidel Castro.
In 1991 the Earth Liberation Front set fire to the Vail Mountain Ski Resort in Colorado in protest of a planned ski field expansion that they claimed would threaten the endangered lynx.
AC/DC in 1980 started their first tour in the UK since the death of frontman Bon Scott.
