Nursing students to take part in poverty simulation
Posted on: Tue 16 Oct 2018
Nursing students from the University of Adelaide will take part in a poverty simulation, as part of Anti-Poverty Week.
The simulation has been developed by the Missouri Community Action Network and challenges students to manage a ‘month’ of poverty while interacting with a broad range of social support systems.
Registered nurse and course coordinator for the School of Nursing at the University of Adelaide, Sally Bessell, speaks to Small Change‘s Lisa Burns about the simulation and the importance of students gaining an understanding of the impact of poverty on people’s health.
