Are SA schools safe for LGBTIQ students?

Australian students identifying as LGBTIQ experience significantly higher levels of emotional, verbal and physical abuse than their peers And 80% of that happens in school. Safe Schools was the national program designed to support school communities in changing that. The new SA government has just cut funding, 2 years before the contract was due to end. What now? Andrew Birtwistle-Smith has a long history as an advocate for LGBTIQ people, Aboriginal people, people living with HIV and people with disability. He spoke with Monday Packed Lunch team Peter Burdon and Nicky Page as the Deputy Chair of the SA Rainbow Advocacy Alliance.
