Speaking truth to power

Safe as banks?
That used to mean a lot more than it does now.
They have been given licences to make money, positions of privilege in the economy.
And they have repaid it by lying, cheating and self-serving.
Governments are less than perfect, but we set up public organisations to tell it like it is, to speak truth to those in power.
Why should we tolerate any less in the private sector?
