Kanggawodli – The Caring House

In this week’s show, we find out about an Aboriginal-managed service that’s run by SA Health, called Kanggawodli – meaning the Caring House.
Kanggawodli is an Aboriginal-managed SA Health service that provides primary health care and clinical care in a residential setting for Aboriginal people who are in Adelaide for specialist health care.
The clients who access services from Kanggawodli come from rural, remote and country locations and are in Adelaide under specialist care and need support to access the health system and get the health care they need.
There are some criteria (or rules) about who can stay at Kanggawodli: You can get admission to Kanggawodli only if you have been referred there; you also have to be at least 18 years of age. We find out about how the referral process works and about who can use the services at Kanggawodli.
