Peter Dutton’s Problematic Approach to Immigration
Posted on: Mon 26 Mar 2018
Minister for Home Affairs Peter Dutton faces a backlash for his call to fast-track visas for persecuted white South African farmers to Australia.
Minister Dutton has defended his decision stating that these farmers need ‘special attention’ and would ‘abide by our laws, integrate into our society, work hard [and] not lead a life on welfare’.
Dr Jon Piccini from the University of Queensland joins Tom Mann to discuss the issue with the Minister’s stance and how it re-lives a more racist time in Australia’s history.
