SA spending more on telecommunications than power
Posted on: Fri 16 Mar 2018
SACOSS’ latest Cost of Living Update shows that South Australians spend more on telecommunications than on electricity – and that like electricity costs, the cost of telecommunications hit those on the lowest incomes hardest.
Senior Policy Officer, Dr Greg Ogle, explains these latest cost of living figures and the digital inclusion policies SACOSS is asking all political parties to commit to.
The update also shows that while expenditure on telecommunications in regional areas is less than Adelaide, regional consumers are getting around 30% less value for money.
Policy Advisor, Marnie Round, discusses the findings.
