AFL Under Fire After Denying Transgender Athlete

The AFL is facing a barrage of criticism from sport personalities and transgender advocates after they disallowed transgender athlete Hannah Mouncey from nominated for the 2017 AFLW draft.
Commentators have labelled the move “surprising” and warn the move could land them in hot water in the future.
Meanwhile transgender advocates see it as another hurdle in their battle for equality.
Reporter Sam Bradbrook spoke to Hannah Mouncey’s head coach at Ainslie Football Club Chris Bourke, General Manager of Transgender Victoria Sally Goldner and sport broadcasting legend KG Cunningham about the decision.
