Calls for DV memorial to be created in Adelaide
Posted on: Fri 3 Nov 2017
Helen Oxenham came over from Ireland in the early 1960s and as a child witnessed the devastating impact of domestic violence.
Now in her late eighties, Helen is calling for the creation of a public memorial space in Adelaide to honour those affected by domestic violence, and to remind people that domestic and family violence is everyone’s business.
She joined Small Change’s Lisa Burns for a chat about her childhood memories of family life in Ireland, the campaign she’s running through her organisation, Spirit of Woman, and how people can show their support.
