Sucking up to coal MPs

Many are still trying to understand the federal government’s National Energy Guarantee announcement made last week. It’s thin on detail, apart from the vague concept of guarantees with regard to reliability and carbon emissions and has targets set way off for 2030. Is it really an energy policy or has it been created for another purpose? To find out more, Barometer’s Des Lawrence spoke to John Quiggin, Professor in the School of Economics at the University of Queensland.
