Art Throb host David Jobling speaks with Louise Adler AM, Director of Adelaide Writer’s Week, who is widely considered to be one of the most significant figures in Australian publishing. Louise took up the position of Director of Adelaide Writer’s Week in mid-2022. The unique and largely free festival attracts audiences from around the globe, and is considered internationally as one of the best events of it’s kind, offering a thought-provoking program from 1st – 6th March at the Pioneer Women’s Memorial Garden. Here, Louise describes some of the features of this year’s festival, and reveals why there is a campaign in 2025 to keep the event mostly free of charge.
