Mike Carlton – Dive!

A doyen of the Australian media, Mike Carlton has enjoyed a distinguished career in print journalism and on radio. He became a war correspondent in Vietnam and for three years was the ABC’s Bureau Chief in Jakarta and also reported for the ABC from London, New York and major Asian capitals. On television, he worked on the ABC’s groundbreaking This Day Tonight current affairs program in the 1970s for Nine Network News and A Current Affair. Carlton, set to appear at Adelaide Writer’s Week on Wed 5th March to discuss his latest book Dive! Australian Submariners at work speaks here with Art Throb‘s David Jobling who asked how Carlton thought the rise of social media platforms have affected traditional mainstream media.
