When Peace Activist Mabel Gardner discovered her brother Tom had voluntarily enlisted in the Australian Army to serve in World War One it caused great disruption and division in the family. In recent years, Janet Morice discovered letters between her Grandmother (Mabel) and her Great Uncle (Tom). The letters gave an intimate look into how war affected Australians during that very emotional time.
