Chris, the Extinction Rebellion rebel

Posted on: Wed 6 Jul 2022

Extinction Rebellion is becoming something of a household name, especially in the UK, when they shut down Central London for 10 days in 2019 demanding government action on the climate crisis. Over 1100 were arrested.

Here in Adelaide the movement is smaller, but it’s part of a national and international network. One member, Chris, is a rebel who plays a role in that national network. He is talking with Nicky Page from Radio Adelaide’s Packed Lunch.

If you’re curious about Extinction Rebellion then there are a few chances coming up to see a film all about them.

“Conscientious Protectors” tells the story of how Extinction Rebellion rallied the largest civil disobedience of a generation for 10 days in 2019 in London.

This fly on the wall documentary follows the key co-founders of XR through the planning and onto the streets.

There’ll be Q and A afterwards.

It will show in Mitcham and Mt Barker on Monday July 25th and in Semaphore on Tuesday July 26.

But only if there are enough bookings, so book at the events page of Extinction Rebellion SA at xrsa.com.au
