New Research Links Miscarriage and Strokes

Posted on: Fri 24 Jun 2022

This week, new research has been published that shows women who suffer miscarriages or stillbirths have a greater risk of suffering a stroke.

The study followed women over 11 years and concluded that the risk of stroke increased with each subsequent miscarriage or loss of a baby before and during birth.

Gita Mishra, Professor of Life Course Epidemiology at Queensland’s School of Public Health and contributor to the study, speaks with Breakfast’s Tom Mann about the findings.
