On this day in history:

In 1859, English naturalist Charles Darwin published “On the Origin of Species”. The work radically changed the view of evolution and laid the foundation for evolutionary biology.

In 1979, the CBS two-part miniseries “Salem’s Lot” concluded in the US. Based on the horror novel of the same name by Stephen King, the story follows a writer named Ben Mears who returns to his childhood hometown to discover that the residents are becoming vampires.

In 2015, The only copy of Wu-Tang Clan’s double album Once Upon A Time In Shaolin sold at auction for $2 million to notorious pharmaceutical executive Martin Shkreli. The album was contained within a silver jewel-encrusted box with a wax Wu-Tang Clan seal and leather-bound liner notes.
