Barry Pareezer: From Air Cadet to Royal Australian Navy

Posted on: Mon 22 Nov 2021

Today we re-broadcast interviews we conducted in early 2018

In 1963 Barry was a 17year old Australian Air Cadet but thought he’d stir his Mum up a bit by saying that he was joining the Navy.  To his surprise, Mum thought that was a great idea!  Barry eventually retired from the RAN with two tours of Vietnam under his belt and the rank of Chief Petty Officer.  He went on to a career in the Police Force.  A delightful insight highlighting the important roles our ex-service men and women perform for both country and community.
