Rita Cowled: A plaque for Archie
Posted on: Mon 25 Oct 2021

When Rita’s Great Uncle, 30 year old Archie Curvey was killed in 1917 on the battlefield of Bullecourt with no known grave, his mother back home in Australia is said to have died of a broken heart.
Guest Interviewer Daniel O’Brien OAM brings us a charming interview with Rita who tells us how 100 years later the family achieved some solace for their loss. Rita also speaks about her father who served with 2/3rd Aust Docks Operating Coy in New Guinea and the Islands during WWII, and her son Wayne, who serves in the Royal Australian Navy.
