Slave-made products: Footing the bill

Do you ever worry about how the clothes you’re wearing were made? What about your homewares and electronics?

In 2018, the Australian government introduced its Modern Slavery Bill, but in an attempt to improve it’s pitfalls, a private member’s bill proposed by South Australian independent senator Rex Patrick.

The bill passed the Senate this week, but does it properly address the issues of slave-made imports?
