On This Day – 13th of August

Shortly after midnight on this day in 1961, the Berlin wall began construction with the installation of barbed wire fences. The day came to be known by many in Germany as ‘Barbed Wire Sunday’.

 In 1967, classic film Bonnie and Clyde was released. The film, based on real-life lovers Bonnie and Clyde, was considered a defining film of what was known as the New Hollywood era.

In 2012, Taylor Swift released her single ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together’ from her smash hit album Red and achieved one of the biggest single-week chart jumps in history skyrocketing from no. 72 to no. 1 in just a week.
