On This Day – 30th of July

In 1908, the Great Automobile Race from New York to Paris was won by the Americans. The race is still the longest motorsport event ever held after it took six weeks to complete.

In 1935, Penguin published their first book and began what became known as the ‘paperback revolution’.

In 1963, Friends star Lisa Kudrow was born. She was discovered for Friends through her character Ursula on the 1992 sitcom Mad About You.
