On this day in history:
In 1947, the infamous Roswell UFO incident occurred. The incident took place near Roswell, New Mexico where a reported weather balloon had crash landed.

Conspiracy theories about whether the incident was a cover up for a recovered alien space craft or something else are still hotly debated to this day.

In 1928 one of the greatest inventions, sliced bread, was sold for the first time.

The bread was produced and sold by The Chillicothe Baking Company through the use of Otto Frederick Rohwedder’s automatic bread slicing machine to much acclaim.

Also In 1998, the album Stunt by Canadian rock band the Barenaked Ladies was released.

The album made it to number 3 on the US charts with the album’s single One Week hitting number one.
