There are an innumerable number of threats to our agricultural industry and biodiversity. But by and by, introduced plants, animals, insects and diseases cause more damage than anything else.

In 2021, picturing a nation free of pests is a far stretch of the imagination – however appropriate management may not be so distant. The first step is to put a number on this impact.

Barometer’s Leon Bishop spoke with Corey J. A. Bradshaw, Matthew Flinders Professor of Global Ecology at Flinders University, about a new publication quantifying this damage.
