Following decades of difficulty, Whyalla is once again facing economic instability.
After having the steel mill purchased in 2017 following much uncertainty, Whyalla once again has no clear path forward with owner of the steel mill, British industrialist Sanjeev Gupta facing legal challenges around the collapse of financiers Greensill Capital.
So what do we know about the economic future of Whyalla? And what can be done to create some certainty for this regional hub?
