The future of energy in Australia

Posted on: Tue 13 Apr 2021

The current coal-fired power system we use to generate energy is unsustainable and outdated. Therefore, we need to figure out another way to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 without disrupted energy supplies or skyrocketing prices.

Some say 100% renewable energy is the way to go, but a new report shows that neither coal-fired power or renewables are the way to go.

The best way to approach net-zero emissions involves retaining a small proportion of fossil-fuel generation in the electricity mix, combined with an alternative energy source.
