On this day in 1903, American inventor Thomas Edison, publicly electrocuted an elephant at a New York theme park, in an attempt to show the world the dangers of the electrical inventions of his rival Nicola Tesla. Regarding music history, on this day in 1975, Elton John’s cover of “Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds” by The Beatles topped the charts in the US.
