‘Richard Jewell’ – Film Review

Posted on: Thu 19 Nov 2020

Clint Eastwood’s latest story chronicles the heartbreaking and tragic events of the 1996 Atlanta ‘Centennial Park’ bombing. In particular the film written by screen writer Billy Ray focuses in on the FBI and the mainstream medias approach towards security guard Richard Jewell as a key suspect throughout the investigation.

The film offers a fantastic insight into the concept of ‘trial by media’, allowing viewers to empathise with the strength of Richard and his mother Bobi Jewell as they fought against the mistruths being publicised daily.
