#NobodyLeftBehind supporting people seeking asylum

Posted on: Fri 30 Oct 2020

There are currently around 16,000 children in families seeking protection in Australia.

According to Democracy in Colour, a national racial and economic justice organisation, many people seeking asylum have lost their jobs as a result of COVID-19 as they often work in the service sectors worst affected.

People seeking asylum are not eligible for the JobSeeker or JobKeeper payments, like many other workers, and will face challenges re-entering the workforce.

Democracy in Colour national co-director Neha Madhok, speaks with Breakfast’s Tom Mann to speak about their #NobodyLeftBehind campaign, aiming to put pressure on the Federal government to ensure adequate support is provided for people seeking asylum.
