New Zealand election looms amongst referendums

Posted on: Sat 10 Oct 2020

With the General Election now less than a week away, hundreds of thousands of New Zealanders have already cast their vote to elect the 53rd New Zealand Parliament.

Recent polls show the Labour Party, led by Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, is comfortably leading the conservative National Party by as many as 13 points.

New Zealanders will also get the opportunity to vote on two major referendums this week, the Cannabis legalisation and control referendum and End of Life Choice referendum.

New Zealand correspondent Oscar Perress from 95bFm joins Breakfast‘s Zoe Koundadis and Tom Mann to talk us through how voting has been going so far.
