Don Loffler: Holden Cars & Australia post WW2

Posted on: Mon 17 Aug 2020

3 years after the end of WW2, life in Australia was pretty austere…  and along came ‘Australia’s Own Car’…  the FX Holden.   Don Loffler was the first person in Australia to brave publishing opinions, and produce his page-turner book  She’s a Beauty: The Story of the First Holdens.  It set the tone for another 7 books from Don’s pen about Holdens.  Don gives us an insight into these cars, and also tells how butter, sugar and even clothes were rationed in Australia at the end of WW2.
