Regional journalists in Australia play the vital role of reporting the news and stories of their local communities, which are often neglected by the mainstream media.

But the role of regional journalists has become frustrating for several reasons, including the lack of time to improve their digital skills.

Caroline Fisher, Associate Professor at the University of Canberra, speaks with Breakfast’s Tom Mann and Zoe Kounadis about the main challenges that regional journalists are facing to do their job.
