Posted on: Tue 14 Jul 2020

Understandings of social disadvantage and inequality in Australia are still emerging, with statistics predominantly consisting of superficial income-based assessment.

In reality, disadvantage is a highly multi-faceted issue – involving health, access to education as well as a massive range of other social markers.

Director of the Centre for Economic Policy Research at Australian National University, Ben Phillips, joined Breakfast’s Tom Mann and Zoe Kounadis to elaborate on his research with the team at ANU.
