Maureen Mowbray: From Scotland to Australia

Posted on: Wed 25 Dec 2019

At the tender young age of 6 she lost both father and mother, and became a child labourer in the Scottish highlands.  Her Mother died, and her Dad was one of the soldiers (Gordon Highlanders) left to defend the evacuation from Dunkirk during WW2, and spent 5 years in a German Prisoner of War camp.  Maureen’s first home back with her family when her father was liberated, was the Tower of London.  Maureen very generously gives us an insight to her incredible life, and her connection to the mighty Clan Donald.
