Flinders University tackling eating disorders

Posted on: Fri 6 Dec 2019

Flinders University is pushing the envelope in the battle against eating disorders, which affect about nine per cent of Australians.

Young people are particularly at risk of developing eating disorders. In this regard, Flinders University’s Media Smart school-based program prevents kids and teenagers from becoming too focused on typical media stereotypes.

Doctor Simon Wilksch, Senior Research Fellow in Psychology at Flinders University, joins Breakfast to discuss Media Smart and the other solutions offered by the institution.
