Behrouz Boochani in New Zealand

There were emotional scenes on Thursday night as Behrooz Boochani landed in New Zealand after more than six years in PNG. He was met by a crowd at the Christchurch airport and received a traditional welcome by the local Maori Iwi. Boochani will be in NZ to speak at the Word Literary Festival about his award-winning book, “No Friend But The Mountains”.

Packed Lunch spoke with Professor Alex Reilly from the Adelaide Law School about Boochani’s departure from Manus and whether or not he will be allowed to stay in New Zealand.
