A Christmas comedy by local theatre

Posted on: Sat 2 Nov 2019

A Christmas Carol is the classic story of Ebeneezer Scrooge, an embittered, selfish and mean-spirited miser who hates Christmas.

But, thanks to the intervention of three ghosts, he turns into a kind and friendly man who loves the annual tradition.

Now, Adelaide Rep Theatre will perform Patrick Barlow’s energetic new take on Charles Dickens’ work.

Tara Nash speaks to cast members Laura Antoniazzi and Jacqui Maynard, along with director Megan Dansie, who says it’s “theatrical, light and fast-moving”.

“It’s a classic story, it’s lovely to do a Christmas show and this one’s just such a fresh take,” she says.

Arts Theatre, November 14-23
