Possible changes to CDP work-for-the-dole

Posted on: Fri 21 Dec 2018

In this week’s program, we listen to the second part of an interview with Mark Jackman and Madonna Tomes from the Regional Anangu Services Aboriginal Corporation.

We find out about the proposed changes to the Community Development Program (CDP – remote work for the dole) that are currently before the Federal Parliament. These changes are included in the Social Security Legislation Amendment (Community Development Program) Bill of 2018. This Bill includes a number of significant changes to how the CDP works and the requirements that people on CDP will have to meet in order to get their income support money. We ask Mark and Madonna about their views on some of the proposed changes.

Mark Jackman is the General Manager of the Regional Anangu Services Aboriginal Corporation (RASAC) and Madonna Tomes who is currently coordinating the CDP, is responsible for Human Resources and Workforce at RASAC.

This program was made possible with support from the Community Broadcasting Foundation. Find out more at cbf.org.au
