When Freedom of Speech and Social Media Collide

Last week we saw the latest social media based sacking of a high-profile personality.
Roseanne Barr was dismissed and her high rating sitcom cancelled following her tweet which compared African-American woman, Valerie Jarrett, a former adviser to President Obama, to an ape.
Roseanne’s dismissal has also sparked debate about whether free speech is being impinged upon.
Joining us on Breakfast to speak about this is Professor Sarah Joseph, Director of the Castan Centre for Human Rights Law at Monash University.
