From RA Sigs to West Croydon Kilkenny RSL

Posted on: Mon 9 Apr 2018

John Lawrance joined the Army in the 1970s, and from recruit training at Kapooka, went to Watsonia in Victoria where he trained to serve in the Royal Australian Corps of Signals as an Operator Radio/Operator Keyboard. These were the days before computerisation and John gives us a glimpse into that time.

John came up against an extraordinary situation in regard to security. John tells us what he did when he left the Army, and how he became involved with the West Croydon Kilkenny RSL, where he serves as Vice President. They’re doing great things to involve families and make people feel welcome.
