Adelaide University Politics Professor, Carol Johnson says, “the problem in the same sex marriage debate is that we have situation where a religiously influenced belief is being imposed on who the state can marry, and that does seem to be seriously undermining the division between church and state in that respect and its also imposing a particular religious view on people with other religious beliefs.”

Carol Johnson, Politics Professor at the University of Adelaide who has recently written for The Conversation joins Breakfast’s Jennie Lenman to break down the relationships between politics and religion.
