Chris Sarra Sheds Light on Indigenous Education

Posted on: Tue 30 May 2017

Chris Sarra has Italian and Aboriginal heritage and has experienced many of the issues faced by Indigenous Australians in education. He’s made it his life’s work to improve educational outcomes through a philosophy and institute called Stronger Smarter. He’s also a Professor of Education at the University of Canberra and has been appointed to the Federal Indigenous Advisory Council.

Producer Thomas Luke joined Professor Sarra to talk about negative stereotyping, victim status and reflecting on the ultimate truth of aboriginal culture ahead of his talk this week at the Communities in Control conference in Melbourne.
