Gold Fever on a microscopic level

Posted on: Sun 7 May 2017

Who wouldnt want to research gold? That’s exactly what Dr Frank Reith has been doing. Specifically, the microscopic colonies that live on the surface of gold, and the changes they make to it. What Dr Reith has discovered may unlock ways to process the gold that currently ends up in the scrap heap, as well as recover the gold from post consumer waste, such as electronics. Dr Reith spoke with Barometer’s Sue Reece.
